He's Home

As you probably already know, Las Vegas headliner Danny Gans has passed away.

He died in his sleep at his Henderson home.

Danny was only 52.

For the latest details check out the Las Vegas Review-Journal: http://www.lvrj.com/

Many people across the world know Danny as a hugely talented entertainer.

And man... he sure was.

But his passion for his Lord and Savior was always first.

Please pray for Danny's wife Julie, and his 3 children Amy, Andrew, and Emily.

What you may not know is that Danny was a supporter of the work going on here at the SOS Radio Network.

He stood with us through the years.

Too many stories to tell you.

Just know his heart for Jesus Christ and the spreading of the Gospel in Las Vegas and beyond meant so very much to us.

This verse keeps passing through my mind today:

Psalms 116:15 (GW) "Precious in the sight of the Lord is the death of his faithful ones."

What a moment when Danny heard these words from the lips of Jesus:

Matthew 25:21 (ESV) "His master said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant... Enter into the joy of your master."

I was so shocked to hear of Danny's passing. But praise God, he's in the very presence of our savior now. I pray for those left behind to miss him.

As a 50 y/o man , it come as quite a shock when a contemporary passes in front of you // It's even more dramatic when an athlete , performer, and health conscious man leaves us as we say "much too early " My most heartfelt condolences to the Gans family , esp. wife and children . I appreciate Kurt's initial scripture blog , and would only add that Danny "finished strongly in the race". All of us lesser known but not lesser loved Christians in the Vegas valley all secretly prayed for and cheered on Danny in his public life to bring entertainment and most importantly the Gospel to the unsaved public .
Thx to the SOS network for supporting brother Danny in his godly musical endeavors many years back , as we all remember fondly his life and seek solace in "A touch of the Master's Hand "
--As a former baseball player to another baseball player "He's heading for home , and HE'S SAFE .. -thx -ron

Our beloved brother in Christ is now Home ... this we can be certain of ... now promoted to Glory, and in the Presence of our Savior! What a joy it must be for him ... a celebration in Heaven of magnificent proportion!

Even though we find it difficult to understand, finding ourselves questioning and asking: Why Lord, we can be assured that God most certainly knows what He's doing and that He has a better plan ... one that is far beyond our human comprehension. Our comfort rests in this truth, and we will continue to place our faith and trust in Him!
When we experience the sudden loss of a loved one, I think the hardest thing in the world for any one of us to do is to count our remaining Blessings ... to truly see and appreciate God's gifts and grace, and then to go on with our lives.
I am reminded of some powerful thoughts my Dad once shared with me some years past, after the sudden and untimely loss of my own brother. I would like to share these thoughts with all of you who may read this, for they are words of truth, and are very much appropriate at this time. I am certain Danny would agree.

"My dear son was a minister who was suddenly taken home. With us one day and gone the next. Since that time I have, in quiet moments at home and on the road, thought through a few of God's many Graces. I made the list for myself ... to help me. It came to me that these thoughts, all Truths, might be a source of strength and healing for others. I hope that from time to time you will think upon these Graces and that they will bless and enrich your life."

God's Many Graces

The Value of Time .. The Pleasure of Work .. The Surplus in Sharing ..The Understanding in Faith ..The Virtue in Patience ..The Enlightenment in Learning ..The Joy in Originating ..The Potential of Excellence ..The Treasure of Family ..The Return of Trust ..The Legacy of Honor ..The Health in Serenity ..The Wonder of Nature ..The Duty to Use Talent ..The Warmth in Friendship ..The Growth in Kindness ..The Dignity of Simplicity ..The Influence of Example ..The Energy in Commitment ..The Godliness of Compassion ..The Strength of Gentleness ..The Healing in Love ..The Sanctity of Truth ..The Radiance of a Smile ..The Power and Strength of Faith .. The Testimony of Humility ..The Cleansing of Confession ..The Power in Meditation ..The Security in Praise ..The Pull of Vision ..The Success in Wisdom .. and most important: The Power of Prayer!

God gives us many opportunities to take inventory of His grace toward us, but sometimes we can temporarily lose sight of this, finding ourselves focusing only on the present situation, such as now, with the sudden loss of Danny. It is so important to understand that God always has been, and always will be, with us and for us no matter what! He has been there from the beginning, and He'll be there in the end, on that glorious day when He calls us Home!

Thank you, Danny, for all that you accomplished as you traveled your earthly journey, for touching countless lives as an ambassador of Christ along the way, and for leaving the world a much better place because you lived! We will miss you!

It's never good-bye … it's "so long, until we meet again!"

Scott played a song recorded by Danny and I would like to know what the name of the CD is and how I can obtain one. It was beautiful!
